A GREAT WEEKEND FOR LIGHTNING TEAMS

It was a very busy two days in the middle of the travel basketball season for Lightning Boys teams. Our teams played in numerous locations not only on Long Island but also throughout the New York Metropolitan area as well as Washington D.C.

The 11U Gold team coached by John Kiggins won the King of the Big Apple Zero Gravity tournament by going 4-0 and defeating a team from Connecticut in the finals in Westchester.

In the 15U Division of the same King of the Big Apple, Lightning Haber captured the championship by downing another Lightning team coached by Paul Buonguro. Very impressive outing by both teams.

In another very impressive showing, Va. Lightning, competing with only six players the entire weekend., won the Zero Gravity Collision at the Capital tournament in Washington, D.C. This team has already won five tournaments this season. They will be travelling from their Northern Virginia homes to compete in the Rumble in the Bronx event June 2-4. This is a very special team that will make their mark in New York in two weeks.

In the 17U Div. ll NY Metro AAU District Championships, the Lightning LaCorte/Locastro team advanced to the quarter final round before being defeated. Great job by this very hard working team who have now qualified to participate in AAU Nationals..

Our 10U Lightning Cameron team dominated the Garden State Spring Showcase going undefeated.
